Have you started thinking about what you want to read in 2023?
I’ve been putting a lot of thought into it. 2022 was the first year I actually set a reading goal. In 2021 I read 25 books, so I set my 2022 goal at 30, thinking that would be a challenge. As of today I’m at 51 books read and I’m fairly certain I can reach 60 by the end of the year. I’m thinking I might bump that up to 75 for 2023. I’m still debating. There are other hobbies I’d like to focus on as well, so I may keep it at 60.
The other challenge I’m considering is making one of my chosen books each month focused on a culture from a different part of the world besides my own. I’m currently reading To Keep the Sun Alive by Rabeah Ghaffari and I’m loving the immersion into Iranian culture and history. Why did it take me this long to find this alternate means of travel?
And finally, I’m challenging myself to post more on this blog than just book reviews. Of course, the reviews will remain a primary focus. But I’m determined to share more of who I am as a reader and lover of books. There’s so much more to share than just what I think of the books I’m reading. What makes me choose the books I do read? What books do I have waiting to be read? What books have I bought recently? Do I do anything besides read? And so many more questions could be answered.
So there’s a little glimpse into the future of this blog! I hope you stick around to see the changes and if you’re a new reader here, I hope you stick around to see where this thing goes!
