what to expect

I suppose the first post on a shiny new blog should be a general introduction of who I am and what I intend to post here. So here goes.

At first glance, you’d think I’m a typical midwesterner of the female variety. But I’m anything but typical. I’m painfully quiet. When I do decide to share in conversation, my contribution is often sarcastic and leaves people wondering was she joking?

I love dad jokes and terrible puns. Fair warning now.

I also love to read. Books are my safe place. My reading interests run from crime and mystery (hence the name of this blog) to horror and thrillers. But I’ll read the occasional RomCom or general fiction to clear my head from dark fiction overload.

I have recently gotten hooked on reviewing books. It’s great to hear someone loved or hated a book. But I want to know WHY they loved or hated it. That’s what helps me decide if I want to read it for myself. Once I realized this was how I felt about others’ reviews I figured it was only fair that I provide my own written feedback about what I thought about the books I read. You’ll find a collection of reviews here from new and old books alike.
